It is essential for Large Energy Users to have strong carbon and energy management programmes. CCL provide this service. CCL is one of the first (and few) Irish companies that has trained and qualified personnel in the ISO 14064 Greenhouse Gas Management standard. The company audits and assists companies on reducing their carbon emissions.
CCL can also provide bespoke packages that allow the company to record its own carbon emissions; this is closely monitored and audited however it empowers the company to look at its own foot print. It also allows companies to use its own personnel in this area and reduce some outsourcing costs.
The reporting of carbon emissions is mandatory for an increasing number of energy users in Ireland. The Non-Financial Reporting Directive that was transposed into Irish law in August 2017, has created an increased impetus for large businesses to procure renewable electricity and report GHG emissions. This new law follows precedents in other EU countries and obliges large businesses in Ireland to return annual statutory reports with key metrics including; renewable electricity consumption, Green House Gas emissions and Water usage.
