Green Certs and Premiums

CCL specialises in maximising revenues for renewable projects at all levels. CCL were the first traders of Levy Exemption Certificates (LECs) and Guarantees of Origin (GOs) in Ireland. CCL achieved this by working closely with the regulatory authorities and market operators in the UK and Ireland. CCL also delivered the first LECs and FiT Exemption payments to wind farms in Ireland. These exemptions are now largely no longer available however CCL continues to innovate and bring further revenues to clients through the following renewable Energy Certificates:

  • Guarantees of Origin (GOs); Irish GOs and GOs from other EU domains
  • Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGOs) from the GB and Northern Ireland
  • Renewable Obligation Certificate (ROCs): ROCs are issued to accredited renewable generators in the GB and Northern Ireland

CCL is one of foremost traders of GOs, REGOs and ROCs in Ireland. CCL have also arranged market structures for clients that ensure they receive new Green Premiums for their energy. Green premiums are additional payments made by the end customer to a renewable generator to create a contractual arrangement that will guarantee that energy users consumption originates from a renewable source. CCL employs expert specialists in energy regulation and market affairs to ensure maximum revenue for clients. Wes focus on strengthening the business case for clients. This can involve chasing netting benefits (Island of Ireland) or Embedded Benefits (GB), however CCL also focuses on benefits in relation to renewable generation.
