Offsetting happens when emissions of one activity are cancelled out (or offset) by emissions reductions from another activity. An illustrative example is the emissions caused by day to day operations of a company being offset by planting a tree or building a wind turbine to replace fossil fueled energy.
Captured Carbon has an emissions holding account with the EPA, as such it can hold and cancel EU approved carbon credits on behalf of both clients.
This will only be done for companies that are actively reducing their carbon emissions. This is explained in further detail in: Captured Carbon Circle
